Recognizing God
When my family spent a week in northern Wisconsin earlier this summer, we marveled at the beautiful landscape. We found ourselves often simply sitting at the front of our cabin, taking in God’s beautiful gifts in nature.
When I arrived at home, I had a number of errands to take care of…the kinds of things to do after being away for a week.
As I was driving here and there, I could not help but notice how beautiful the trees, lawns and flowers looked after all the recent rain.
I found myself thinking, you silly old man; you do no need to travel away to see the gifts God gives us. He is always present.
Not only is God always present, but He is actively calling us to see Him in the people we meet and the things we see.
If only we would train our eyes, hearts, and minds to see His presence, how much better would our world be…how much more loved would we feel…how much more would we grow in that God-given gift of wonder and awe…
